The historic Ludwigstraße

Neuschwanstein Castle is an impressive fairytale castle in the Bavarian Allgäu region, which was built in the 19th century during the reign of King Ludwig II of Bavaria.
It is picturesquely enthroned on a hill near Füssen and attracts millions of visitors every year. The castle is known for its romantic architecture, which combines elements from different styles such as Romanesque and Gothic.
Inspired by medieval castles and Wagner operas, Neuschwanstein symbolises the ideals of the 19th century and is considered one of the most famous castles in the world.
The breathtaking landscape surrounding the castle, with mountains and forests, adds to the fairytale atmosphere.
