Zugspitze Top of Germany

Accompaniment to Germany's highest mountain at 2,962 metres, also known as the Top of Germany.

From Garmisch, take the Zugspitz cogwheel railway to the Zugspitze glacier area and then the glacier cable car to the summit.

You will learn all about the first ascent of the Zugspitze and the construction of the Zugspitze railway; what the Zugspitze spirit is all about and what visible effects climate change is having there.

In fine weather, the summit viewing terrace offers a breathtaking view of 400 Alpine peaks.

After a walk to the Austrian side of the Zugspitze, you take the Eibsee cable car back down to the Eibsee. You will experience 3 world records. From the Eibsee, take the Zugspitze cable car back to Garmisch.

The tour can also be done in reverse order or just with the Eibsee cable car up and down, depending on your preference and time.
